SCTRCA Cover Up
We are investigating an vote made on Jan 2023 by SCTRCA board, against accepting an
audit that showed their certification system:
– Their staff is not trained to do DBE certification program
– They have no written internal controls in place to prevent staff from issuing erroneous certification determinations
– They have no internal controls for documenting completion of the FREE renewal process for the DBE program, your staff doesnt notify when renewals are coming up, which causes small businesses to have to pay to reinstate, when they should not have too.
– There has been no update to the USDOT database that tracks DBEs decertification, which means these decertified businesses can still bid as DBE in other cities and no one knows they are decertified.
The board also voted against auditing certified companies to ensure they actually qualify, meaning you have to compete against unqualified companies.
